About Harold Phillips

Life defined by bumper stickers? It's possible...
  • God looks after fools.
  • To have a friend, be a friend
  • When all is said and done, more is said than done.
  • Talk is cheap.
  • If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

I am also inspired by persons like Robert Kennedy:

All of us might wish at times that we lived in a more tranquil world, but we don't. And if our times are difficult and perplexing, so are they challenging and filled with opportunity.

Childhood days were in Nashville, Tennessee and then four-years of college at Vanderbilt University, majoring in history, sociology, and political science.

After college, I moved to Louisville, Kentucky to attend the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (unfortunately it is a different school now than it was then). That led to meeting one fine woman - Gwen House. We were married in Louisville, we each had our first full-time jobs there, and daughter Rachel was born there. Those were 14 wonderful years with friends who continue to be friends.

We moved to Liberty, Missouri in 1987 to work with Second Baptist Church. We are now midwesterners in our thinking and behaviors.

Life is made special by involvement with Second Baptist Church , work with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Missouri, a strong passion for the multi-faceted values of historic preservation, and active citizenship in the City of Liberty. Working together, good people can make this world a better place.
